Oh, I Wanna Dance with Somebody

I can count the number of times I've danced with D on one hand. Our wedding ~ one New Years Eve ~ OK, didn't even need a whole hand. Needless to say, D enjoys making music, not dancing to it.

So I've been ecstatic to have Bitty Man for a dance partner. He can Point Your Fingers and Do the Twist, Hot Potato, and Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Car all day long. (Wiggles tunes, for those of you not versed in the Wiggles repertoire.)

Until today.

I turned on the Tivo'd Wiggles so I could take a shower when I heard Captain Feathersword start to sing 'Quack Quack Quack'. I ran into the livingroom so I could dance with my Bitty partner. Christopher started to Quack... until he spied Jeff (the purple Wiggle) playing the keyboards. Bitty Man loudly announced, "PIANO!!!" and began pretending to play along.

Tried as I might, Bitty would not Quack or Cock-a-doodle-do. All he wanted to do was play the keyboards.

Like Father like Son.

Bitty Man is Famous!

The Adventures of Bitty Man has been cited in another Mommy-Blog, K and the 3 D's: http://http://homepage.mac.com/dnelson1822/iblog/index.html

Now if only I could find my digital camera, I'd take another picture of Bitty Man to post. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure where I'll find my Fuji FinePix. In the Diaper Champ, where I've recently had to dig out a cell phone and my Mac makeup brush. Sadly the Champ was emptied and the trash taken out before we realized one of the cordless phone handsets was missing.

How can such a Bitty Man have such long arms? There is no such thing as pushing an item far enough back on the counter, desk or nightstand. But on the bright side, our house is becoming increasingly de-cluttered. FlyLady would be proud.

Music To My Ears

Bitty Man spoke his first three-word sentence yesterday. As he was lying on my lap, basking in his Mamma Milk high, he looked up at me and said:

"Mom-mee... luv yoo!"

Sniff, sniff!

Growing Pains

Bitty Man had a well-baby check-up this morning. His 20-month stats:

Weight: 24 pounds (25% percentile, up from 10% at birth)
Height: 32 1/2 inches (50% percentile, up from 25% at birth)
Head: 49 centimeters (75% percentile)

Poor little guy did receive one shot, but he handled it like a trooper. Of course he managed to milk it all day long, giving Mommy and Daddy the 'sad face' and pointing to his 'ouchie' anytime he was asked to do something he didn't want to do...

and it worked.

For today anyway.

We tried to explain that the Packers lost and he should be sad... but Bitty Man was thrilled that football was finally over and he could watch 'BLUE! BLUE!' (as in Blue's Clues). Posted by Hello

Hell Hast Frozen Over!

Snow Falls on Vegas Strip as Winter Storm hits Southern Nevada

ASSOCIATED PRESS LAS VEGAS (AP) -

For a moment Friday, the view over the pool at the Mandalay Bay resort stopped casino workers in their tracks.

"It's snowing in Las Vegas," hotel spokesman Gordon Absher said as a winter storm swept into southern Nevada. "We looked out over the lagoon, and there's snow over the palm trees."

"It's beautiful," said Wendy Williams, an employee at Caesars Palace hotel-casino. "People are all, like, 'What's going on?'"

It's been about a year since a rare desert snowfall on the Las Vegas Strip, and Williams said her husband reported snow was falling heavier in the northwest neighborhood of Summerlin. A dusting on cars was also reported in hillside neighborhoods across the Las Vegas valley in Henderson.

"We've got it all over," said Lisa Anderson, a Las Vegas police spokeswoman. She said that besides traffic tie-ups and fender-benders, no major problems were reported.

A Dec. 30, 2003, snowstorm was the first in five years to deposit an inch or two of snow on cars, trees, sidewalks and roads.

The National Weather Service predicted rain throughout the weekend in southern Nevada, with wind and heavy snow in the mountains

Bitty Man DID like his new friend, I (daughter of a dancer friend from Mommy & Daddy's Carnival days who was visiting Vegas from LA)! Bitty Man and I share May 13 birthdays -- but a year apart. Posted by Hello

We toured Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay... and Bitty Man was less than impressed! Posted by Hello
